Chufu Cai was born in 1942 in the town of Zhaoma, Zhaoping, Guangxi. In the 1950s, he began to receive formal art training at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts during his junior high school years, which laid a firm foundation for the diversified development of his painting art later on. Mr. Cai does not intend to pursue the techniques of brushstrokes. He emphasizes the objective realism of character objects and exploration as well as the performance of the inner world collaborated with a steady and powerful rhythm of color. Combining the rigorous and perfect styling tradition of Western classicism with the aesthetic approach of Chinese culture; the painted figures are ardent, flesh-and-blood, and lifelike. The use of passionate brushstrokes creates a concrete, relative, and realistic painting of Taiwanese Gaoshan Mountain, making it a meaning portrait from the past to the future.

Mr. Cai turned ordinary brushstrokes into a magical artwork, focusing on the poetic landscape, the quiet forest, the colorful snow on the ground under the sun, the sparkling clear water, the reflection of the trees on the water, and the falling leaves. Everything is beautiful and breathtaking. Such sceneries made Chufu Cai earned a great reputation in the mainstream of the American art world.

He is currently the President of the American Chinese Artists Association, a consultant to the American International Culture and Art Center, and a consultant to the New York Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Association.

In 1964, one of his oil paintings and Chinese paintings were selected for the Third Art Exhibition of pLA. In the 1980s, he became the exclusive painter of “SOHO”, “OK” Harris Gallery and “Shgheonard Associates”.

In 1985, he attended the “Chicago National Realism Exhibition”. His works have been selected into the 1987 Biennale of the Queen’s Art Museum in New York, USA, and was given the title as the Best Works Exhibition of the1988 Biennale.

In 1987, he attended the “Announcement of New York Artists” event at the ALTERNATIVE MUSEUM in Atlanta, USA. The New York Times has published several of his works, such as Polo Ralph Lauren, It is not in the book, The Holocaust, etc. Between the 1980s and 1990s, Taiwan’s “Fuhua ShaLong”, “East Gallery”, “Zhenyatang” and other art companies held personal exhibitions for him. His works have also participated in large-scale domestic and international auctions. Both the price and the transaction rates were quite high, which shows his status in art at China and abroad as well as the importance of his artistic value.

In 1997, he won the “Creation Achievement Award” from the American Center for International Culture and Art. His works have been published in the Chinese and English editions of “World Art Grand Drawings”, “North American Chinese Artists Who’s Who”, “20th Century Chinese Art and Chinese Artists”. “Chinese Dictionary of Artists” and “World Chinese Artists’ Paintings” are also included.
