About Jiaqi Song:
Jiaqi Ryan Song is a graphic designer and visual artist based in New York City. He graduated from Pratt Institute with an MFA Communications Design Degree in 2019. Currently, he is the creative designer at Spring Studios, a globally renowned advertising agency in New York City.He has always believed that art and design are everywhere in our daily lives and could be used to tell our unique stories. Hence, as a designer, Jiaqi Ryan Song seeks to define and rebuild our relationship with objects, narratives and universal communications that have the positive impact on, and evoke the life moments of presence that express our human experiences and qualities, through graphic and visual designs.
About The Show:
Living in this fast-paced, diverse, digital world, we are losing our connections with everyday physical objects; we are inhabiting a fictitious reality in these digitalized environments, while alienating from and neglecting the “real” reality; and we are disregarding the emerging social and civilization issues around us. Through the lenses of the New York based designer – Jiaqi Ryan Song, “Evoking Moments of Presence” design show explores the questions – what is the power of graphic design? How can design be utilized to recover neglected human narratives and indulgences? And how can design bring back our curiosity and sensitivity towards our daily life?
